Welcome to BHP Irrigation
We offer a straightforward approach to irrigation service and support. We want to build customer relationships by starting small and building up, from helping you as much as we can via phone and email, to on-site service and support and by being the best at looking after your planned maintenence.

The UK irrigation industry is crowded. There are many companies offering a wide range of irrigation-related services. With prices being driven down, and fierce competition within the industry increasing, it is a buyer's market.
We want to be different. Simply put, we focus on providing an exemplary level of service and support, and building solid, long-term relationships with our clients. So if you own, manage or operate an irrigation system, and would like to to keep it working as it should, then please contact us to discuss how we can help.
Firing up the Handtrencher
August 10th, 2010
A good summer this year has raised lots of interest from our clients regarding works to improve and extend their systems and we are looking forward to carrying out a number of system extensions. We’ve even had to dust off and fire up our Ditchwitch 1820 Handtrencher to save a bit of hand digging. If you are thinking about new irrigation, or improving and extending your existing system, please get in touch but don’t forget that the summer is our busiest period, and ideally you will need to look towards next seasons requirements over the Autumn, Winter and Early Spring. If you have any thoughts about moving forward with your system, please contact us to see how we can help.
Sprinkler Coverage Issues
August 10th, 2010
We have been involved recently in investigating a number of sites with coverage issues. With long periods of sun over the last couple of months, the sites (specifically bowling clubs) have experienced patterned browning on the turf. Upon closer inspection, the issue is being caused by a combination of problems but it appears predominantly to be caused by the local wind patterns affecting the sprinkler trajectories and arcs. It would appear that the damp summers over the last couple of seasons have masked this problem. If you think that your system is suffering from coverage problems then please contact us. Apart from operational issues that can be easily rectified from regular servicing, there are a number of market solutions from manufacturers such as Toro help combat the issue of wind interference. If you use the Hunter ACC Controller or have a larger site to manage and the idea of a remote control interests you then you should look at the ICR Remote Control…It does make life easier. Click here for more information.
